FALL HAS OFFICIALLY ARRIVED
- This is the time of year that God shows Himself in a spectacular rainbow of various brilliant colors.
- Days are growing much shorter and our weather is growing cooler.
- When this time of year arrives, we begin to think more about our loved ones.
- Truly the season of family celebrations is close at hand.
- My, what a time to look forward to for all of us.
This month we celebrate God’s goodness to us personally, as a family and as a nation.
- Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I like it because it’s not a give-me day, but a day set aside to say “thank you.”
- At our Thanksgiving table we sometimes go around and everyone shares something they are thankful for.
Just a few short weeks from now we will be observing the time of year when we remember the birth of our Savior.
- This certainly is a memorable and joyful time of the year.
- Before any of us can count the days, we will be entering the last few days of this year.
I trust that before we get caught up in a whirlwind of activities, you will take time to remember what all of this means to us as an individual and to those who are people of Faith.
- We are privileged to be living at this time on God’s calendar of history and in this most blest and prosperous country.
- As the chorus goes: “God is so good to me” and with it’s problems we are still fortunate to be called Americans.
Also, this month we are reminded of those individuals who have served us and stood tall for this nation and our freedoms.
- In a spirit of thankfulness for this land we live in, we cannot help but think of the sacrifice that has been made from the seventeen hundreds down to today by our Military.
- Without them there would be no USA, no Stars and Stripes, no Statue of Liberty, no National Anthem and just about anything else we may call to mind.
- They gave of themselves for a vision of this country just as Christ gave of Himself for the vision of eternity.
- Without them you and I might never have had the chance to hear the gospel.
- November 11th has been set aside to honor our veterans and those now serving.
As you enjoy the blessings and celebrations of this month, remember those now on duty for our country, the sacrifices they and their families have made and continue to make.
For myself November and January are months of reflection.
- This month I like to take time to focus on the bounties of life which help to create comforts and enjoyments.
- We all have more than we realize.
At our home we recently had a huge garage/yard sale.
- I must admit as I cleaned out cabinets, drawers, closets and the garage that I became ashamed of myself.
- Here we were getting rid of the “excess plenty” we had, but their are so many in our world and our country that have very little or nothing at all.
- I am a spoiled American and I don’t like that part of myself…..(spoiled). Things, things, things.
- May I ever be grateful and may I be more aware of the daily needs of those lest fortunate.
Let each of us strengthen the gratitude in our hearts for the goodness of life.
Remember those who have less and most importantly remember those who may not be celebrating Thanksgiving with their families because they have given of themselves so that we may have the privilege of being with ours.
